Holders of USDC.n Need to Swap or Migrate
As of this posting, there is currently more than $1.4M in USDC via Noble (USDC.n) on Sei Network. If you hold any USDC.n, you should swap it for native USDC before the end of March 2026 to avoid potential loss of access to your assets. This is because the SIP-3 upgrade, which was accepted by the Sei ecosystem last year, is expected to formally make Sei an EVM-only chain and will no longer support Cosmos-native assets like USDC via Noble. After this upgrade, USDC.n may become inaccessible or lose its value on the Sei Network.
The SIP-3 upgrade is currently expected to go live on mainnet at the end of March 2026, but this timeline is subject to change. Users should monitor official announcements for any updates to this deadline. If you’re a holder of USDC.n, here are your options:
Swap
For smaller volume conversions, you may be able to swap USDC.n for USDC using DragonSwap or Symphony. Slippage may vary depending on market conditions and liquidity. The mention of these platforms does not constitute an endorsement, and users should do their own research before using any third-party service.
Migrate
For larger-volume conversions, you can use this tool which batches and migrates your USDC.n to native USDC on Sei Network. This tool will transfer your USDC.n through Noble, then Polygon, and finally back to the Sei Network using Circle’s CCTP. Users assume all risks associated with using this tool, including but not limited to technical failures, loss of funds during transfer, and delays. This tool is provided “as is” without any warranties.
You can also manually migrate your USDC.n by using a bridge like Stargate, targeting an intermediary chain where both CCTP v1 and v2 contracts are deployed, such as Base, and then use CCTP to burn/mint native USDC back to Sei. Manual migration carries additional risks including technical errors, loss of funds, and security vulnerabilities. Users should only attempt manual migration if they fully understand the technical process and associated risks.
Other useful frontends for bridging or migrating include:
For suppliers of USDC.n on defi protocols
For suppliers of USDC.n on defi protocols such as Yei or Takara Lend, you should first wind down those positions and then withdraw them before migrating to native USDC. Failure to do so before the SIP-3 upgrade may result in inability to access your supplied assets.
At time of writing, there is approximately $194k of USDC.n supplied on Yei and approximately $13k of supply on Takara Lend. These figures are estimates and may change rapidly.
