Chainlink Data Streams Launches on Sei as Preferred Oracle Infrastructure

The Sei Development Foundation and Chainlink today announced Chainlink Data Streams are live on Sei as the preferred oracle infrastructure for the Sei Network, setting the standard for secure, reliable, and verifiable onchain data for the Sei ecosystem.

Chainlink Data Streams has been integrated with the Sei Network as the preferred low-latency oracle solution because it supplies premium high-frequency market data using proven Chainlink infrastructure. Not only does Data Streams deliver unmatched functionality—with advanced features such as liquidity-weighted bid-ask spreads and sub-second execution speed—but it does so without compromising on transparency and decentralization.

This integration arrives at a pivotal moment as institutional adoption of blockchain infrastructure accelerates. In addition to market leading institutional-grade price data, Chainlink's recent partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce will bring Bureau of Economic Analysis data onchain to the Sei Network, including Real GDP, PCE Price Index, and domestic purchasing metrics.

This signals a fundamental shift toward government validation of blockchain as critical financial infrastructure. With federal macroeconomic data now flowing directly into onchain markets, the combination of Chainlink's institutional-grade oracle network and Sei's sub-second settlement capabilities positions the ecosystem at the forefront of a new era where traditional financial data and high-performance blockchain infrastructure converge to unlock unprecedented trading opportunities and institutional use cases.

“We’re excited to see Chainlink Data Streams integrated on Sei, as this expands Chainlink’s footprint into a fast-growing ecosystem that supports next-gen DeFi protocols and institutional  use cases. With Data Streams available on Sei, developers gain a robust foundation for building innovative onchain products, accelerating adoption and ecosystem growth.” — Thodoris Karakostas, Director of Blockchain & Product Partnerships at Chainlink Labs.

Sei is a high-performance layer-1 blockchain featuring EVM compatibility, parallelized execution, high throughput, and sub-second finality. The combination of Sei’s performance and Chainlink’s security creates a solid foundation for sustained growth across DeFi, gaming, and consumer apps.

Reliable Chainlink Data Streams enable use cases such as DeFi lending, trading, and derivatives on applications deployed on Sei by providing access to secure, low-latency data, ensuring accurate pricing and reducing risk. Developers and data consumers both benefit from secure data integrity powered by Chainlink.

With Chainlink Data Streams now integrated with Sei, secure DeFi markets deployed on the Layer 1 blockchain have access to a data solution that provides on-demand access to high-frequency market data backed by decentralized and transparent infrastructure. Chainlink Data Streams is the ideal fit, supporting a multitude of critical features, such as:

  • Sub-second price latency: Chainlink Data Streams provide sub-second data delivery using battle-tested oracle infrastructure, enabling a highly performant user experience without compromising on decentralization and transparency.
  • High data accuracy: Data Streams provides reliable, low-latency pricing data with high accuracy to benchmark exchanges, bolstering user confidence and protocol performance.
  • High fidelity RWA data: Data Streams enable deeper market data capture within each report, allowing the inclusion of additional data subjects such as corporate actions in the recently launched Data Streams for U.S. equities and ETFs.
  • Liquidity-weighted bid-ask spreads: With Data Streams, protocols receive access to a growing array of data beyond a single data point. Data Streams provide users with liquidity-weighted bid-ask spreads that enable protocols to update their risk management parameters, resulting in a more accurate reflection of market liquidity.
  • Time-tested infrastructure and high uptime: Built on the Chainlink platform with proven security, hyper-reliability, and high-quality data that’s been operating in production for years, helping to enable $25+ trillion in onchain transaction volume for leading DeFi applications, Data Streams can deliver strong availability and uptime guarantees.

“Chainlink Data Streams has been integrated as the preferred oracle infrastructure for Sei, bringing highly accurate and reliable price information to the Sei ecosystem. Data Streams’ ultra-low-latency delivery of market data, coupled with its battle-tested infrastructure, made it an obvious choice for the Sei ecosystem.”—Justin Barlow, Executive Director at Sei Development Foundation.

About Chainlink

Chainlink is the industry-standard oracle platform bringing the capital markets onchain and powering the majority of decentralized finance (DeFi). The Chainlink stack provides the essential data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy standards needed to power advanced blockchain use cases for institutional tokenized assets, lending, payments, stablecoins, and more. Since inventing decentralized oracle networks, Chainlink has enabled tens of trillions in transaction value and now secures the vast majority of DeFi.

Many of the world’s largest financial services institutions have also adopted Chainlink’s standards and infrastructure, including Swift, Euroclear, Mastercard, Fidelity International, UBS, ANZ, and top protocols such as Aave, GMX, Lido, and many others. Chainlink leverages a novel fee model where offchain and onchain revenue from enterprise adoption is converted to LINK tokens and stored in a strategic Chainlink Reserve. Learn more at chain.link.
